The Doctors Halloween episode was all about scaring us "straight to lose that weight!" They weren't exactly sharing shocking news but there were some ghastly facts we should always be mindful of:
The 4.6 billion French fries we eat collectively in America every year may lead to an early grave, as obesity can trim off almost a decade of life for some people.
1 soda per day over the course of a year is equivalent to 39 pounds of sugar that's completely dumbing you down and increasing your risk of developing metabolic syndrome (the precursor to diabetes) by about 34 percent.
The doctors make a good point -- worry about money if not your health, because health care expenses are 25 percent higher than the average person's for people struggling with obesity. It's not just money spent trying to lose weight either. It's the many complications that come with obesity -- heart disease, stroke, diabetes, cancer...
With these frightening facts about fat in mind, remember to treat yourself this Halloween, but don't trick yourself.
