Funny Face Fruit

Kids love fruit salad, but it's even more fun when their fruit salad loves them back. Once an adult preps a pineapple base with a big shock of green (pineapple) hair, children can arrange fruit to make their own personalized funny face.

Orange slices, apple slices, berries, halved grapes, etc.

With a sharp chef's knife, slice the pineapple in half lengthwise all the way through the greenery on top. Use the tip of the knife to cut all the way around the fruit, leaving a rim of about 1/2 inch of pineapple shell. Use a large spoon to scoop out the fruit, then cut out and discard the core. (An adult should do this.)

Dice the pineapple into small pieces and return it to the shell.

Use slices of fruit to make eyes, nose, mouth, eyebrows, ears—any type of face you like.
