Halle Berry won the first round of her ongoing custody battle with ex-boyfriend Gabriel Aubrey when a judge gave her permission to take 2-year-old daughter Nahla to New York during the filming of New Year's Eve. But Aubry isn't about to let his ex's role in the film keep him away from his little girl. According to RadarOnline, the 35-year-old model is putting his L.A. life on hold and moving to New York City to take care of Nahla while Berry, 44, is at work.
A source close to the couple claims that Aubry has sublet an apartment in the Big Apple and is expected to be there for at least two months. Berry's role in the thematic sequel to Valentine's Day was reportedly the catalyst that led to her increasingly ugly custody battle with Aubry. We hope the drama that went down before filming started doesn't escalate once things are in action!
Aubry "plans to be (in New York) all the time Nahla is" and "has put his career temporarily on ice, canceled a couple projects he had booked, and plans on concentrating full time on being with Nahla," says the source.
"The agreement at the moment is that Gabriel will be primary caregiver to Nahla during the time Halle is working, but nothing is set in stone, or agreed in writing, so we will have to just see how that goes," the insider continues. The two recently realized their public war of words had gotten "out of control" and had reportedly reached a truce and agreed to tone things down. For Nahla’s sake, we hope these two can keep the peace in New York and Los Angeles.
