We didn't think we could crush any harder on Gabrielle Giffords' husband Mark Kelly, but now we hear her spaceman sweetie is writing a ridiculously cute children's book.
Scheduled to be published in October, Mousetronaut: A Partially True Story is based on Kelly's own experiences, TODAY reports.
"On my first space shuttle flight, we had 18 mice on board as experiments," Kelly said. "And 17 of them, as soon as we got into zero gravity, stayed latched on to the side of the cage. But one of them seemed comfortable through the whole mission, like he was enjoying it."
Kelly's kiddie tale follows a little mouse chosen for a space mission -- and this tiny traveler ultimately saves the day. Kelly, who has two daughters from a previous relationship, says he always wanted to write a book for kids and kicked the idea around for at least a decade.
This isn't the first time Kelly has put pen to paper. He also collaborated on Giffords' memoir about her inspirational recovery after the former Congresswoman was shot in the head while meeting with constituents at an Arizona shopping plaza on Jan. 8, 2011.
So let’s see: Super-smart space explorer, loving and supportive husband, and now adorable author? We're swooning even more than we were before.
