Gaps between primary teeth

My daughter is almost 11 months old and she has two top teeth and two bottom teeth. It appears that a third tooth is trying to break through on top but it looks like it is real close, perhaps even hitting one of the other teeth. She also has a gap between the two top teeth, how long will that last?

Question:

Actually, the gap between the teeth is good news! Since the primary (i.e. baby) teeth are smaller than permanent teeth, gaps between primary teeth generally aid in proper spacing and alignment when the permanent teeth erupt. Teeth with gaps are easier to clean. Usually the gaps will persist until the primary teeth are lost and the permanent teeth take their place.

With regard to the third tooth that is erupting close to the other two teeth on the top arch, observe the eruption of this new tooth carefully. It may go into place just fine next to the other tooth. Your dentist can also take a quick look just to be sure, but everything sounds normal to me.
