Garden Diseases

By the end of last season, some of my groundcover roses had black spot and one of my lilac bushes was covered with white powdery mildew. I've kept my garden clean of debris and sprayed with an antifungal. Do I need to do something else?

Question:

Good hygiene in the garden is always critical as well as healthy soil which helps to ward off fungus and diseases.

I would do nothing immediately except consistently observe your specimens. If you notice even the beginnings of blackspot on your roses or powdery mildew on your lilac, you should immediately spray with an organic solution that addresses both issues. I have had particular success with a formula that contains rotenone and copper.
