There was a bit of a buzz in the air yesterday, when reports surfaced that TV-turned-movie star George Clooney may be returning to his roots. No, he wasn't scheduled to reprise his role as George on The Facts of Life, but there was talk that the Cloonster would maybe return to ER for the show's end.
Apparently that was news to him.
"No, never — we never even talked about it,” George said, when asked by Entertainment Tonight Canada if he was headed back to into his doctor duds.. “No one has ever asked me. It’s the funniest thing. The story came out, and I was like ‘Where did that come from?’ It was everywhere — I mean in one day!”
Even though George says that you won't be seeing him back on the small screen, he doesn't discount the effect that playing Dr. Doug Ross had on his career.
"I was 33 when ER hit, so I have a very different outlook on the way things work,” he says. “I don’t think I was supposed to have been famous. I realize how much of this is luck.”
Fine. Be that way. Don't go back to looking gorgeous in your scrubs. We don't care.
