Get Breastfeeding Help Over Skype

Great news for tech savvy nursing moms! Milkalicious, a website and Southern California breastfeeding boutique founded by a board-certified lactation consultant, is now helping women with breastfeeding issues over Skype, no matter where they are.

Just think, you won’t have to pack-up your newborn for an appointment or wait for your local lactation specialist to make a house call. (You won't even have to take a shower!) Take it from me, when you’re in pain or having another nursing issue, the last thing you have is time or patience.

Here’s how it works: Choose a time and date on Milkalicious's online calendar, fill out a short appointment request form, including your Skype name, and submit your request. Then log-on at appointment time and viola! A certified pro will appear on your monitor to guide you. The cost? $45 per hour.

Skype consults seem helpful to me but I wonder if some issues (like infant positioning and latching) might be too difficult to correct on-screen. In some cases, maybe it's better to get hands-on help.
