If you are having trouble falling asleep, staying asleep, or getting enough sleep, try to change your relationship to sleep. Think of it as a sacred, precious, healing part of your day and prepare for it carefully. Avoid substances that interfere with sleep like caffeine, cold medications, alcohol and sugar. Get back in rhythm by going to bed before 11 p.m. and sleeping for at least eight hours. To create a peaceful, sleepy environment, clear your mind by writing down all your worries and tasks before bed, or relax by taking a hot bath.
