iVillage chatted with chef Rick Bayless recently while he was in town to talk live with Martha Stewart on her SIRIUS radio show. While Rick's most recent fame can be attributed to his win on Top Chef Masters, the acclaimed chef has been impressing legions of Chicago inhabitants at his 3 award-winning restaurants for years.
His love of authentic Mexican cuisine can be seen in his continual efforts to change the image of Mexican food in America. "If you just tick off what most people in the united states think of Mexican food it's nachos, enchiladas, tacos, burritos, fajitas—that kind of stuff. Well, half those dishes don't even exist in Mexico."
Listen to Bayless dish about some of his favorite ways to prepare guacamole, what things are always in his refrigerator and how he really felt about his experience on Top Chef Masters.
