Get the Look-Teri Hatcher -Makeup

When Teri Hatcher accepted a Golden Globe for her role in Desperate Housewives, she pointed out that most of the stars of the wildly successful show are over 40. Well, if this is what 40 looks like in the 21st century, we'll take it. Hatcher truly sparkled in her silver Donna Karan gown, and not just because she's a winner '- her makeup helped too. Here, her elegantly arched eyebrows and classically lined eyes are the focus, as demystified for us by makeup artist Deborah Grayson.

Step 1: This look is all about the eyes, so begin by curling your lashes. Curled lashes always "open up" the eyes.

Step 2: Make sure your brows have been shaped. Tweeze stray hairs so your arches are accentuated. Lightly fill in any sparse areas of the eyebrows with a soft brow pencil or light brow powder. Apply brow wax to hold hairs in place.

Step 3: Using brown eyeliner, draw a broad line across the circumference of the upper eye just where the lashes meet the rim of the eye. Blend out the line with your pointed eyeliner brush. Now repeat the step for a good strong line.

Step 4: With the same brown pencil, draw a much finer line across the rim of the lower eye, staying as close to the lash line as you can. Remember, the lower line is a more delicate one, so you'll want to use a lighter hand here.

Step 5: Now you're ready for subtle shadowing. Blend muted plum-colored shadow along the arc of the crease of the eyelid and diffuse well using the shadow applicator.

Step 6: Apply two coats of black mascara to the top lashes and one even coat to the bottom lashes.

Step 7: If your skin tends to be dry, lightly pat on some extra eye cream under eyes for added moisture. Next, apply a sheer tinted moisturizer to the entire face, blending lightly and carefully.

Step 8: Using your fingers, blend a creamy blush to the apples of the cheeks and upward over the cheekbones.

Step 9: Finish your look with moist, soft, pretty pink lips. Use a moisturizing lip gloss with enough pink pigment to give you a shine. Deborah recommends skipping lip liner altogether for this look, as it could interfere with the sheer diffused appearance of the lip.
