Get the 'Water for Elephants' Style

Here's how to steal her character's Old Hollywood look

Bebe, Anthropologie, TopShop, Nordstrom and Endless

In Water for Elephants, Reese Witherspoon scores two things we want -- Robert Pattinson and retro glamour. As Marlena, a circus performer who finds love under the Big Top, Reese and her soft wavy bob show off the best of 1930s fashion -- nautical pieces, sexy evening gowns and stage-worthy sparkle.

Steal the star's bygone-era style with these vintage-esque, but totally modern picks:

Set Sail
Pair the Scoop Striped Sweater from Bebe ($49) with the sailor-inspired Tradewinds Trousers by Level 99 that come complete with a double row of buttons ($98 at Anthropologie). Cinch the waist with a skinny black belt for a timeless outfit that works whether by sea or land.

Hats and Heels
Starting in the 1920s, the cloche hat become a lady's must-have accessory, and continued to be into the '30s. For summer, try this straw version with an apricot band and bow detail from TopShop ($45). Similar to the cloche, t-strap heels were all the rage. Try the Clare T-Strap Sandal from Michael Kors' Michael line ($145 at Endless). The shoe's open-toe and perforated detail offer a twist on the basic black pump, and it works perfectly with knee-length pencil skirts.

Razzle Dazzle
You'll stop the show with Pisarro Nights' Beaded Mesh Gown. The shimmery frock features a front and back V-neckline, and would make a great alternative to a traditional white wedding dress ($158 at Nordstrom).
