Girlfriends is coming to TV Cocktail. And if you haven't been watching now is as good a time as any. They're in their seventh season, which some say is rumored to be the last. They're also noticeably missing Jill Marie Jones, whose character Tony Childs, I'll admit, did a lot of stupid stuff, but the show's not the same without her. Here are the ladies in a nutshell. A really tiny nutshell. Joan Clayton: 30 something ambitious go-getter when it comes to her career, but in the personal arena, she can't keep a man to save her life. Maya Wilkes: 30 something, was a teenage mother, who later married her baby daddy, only to cheat on him, then marry him again. She's the assistant turned author, with no bigger hopes than to live the American dream and experience it with her family. Lyne Searcy: 30 something, and all over the place--literally. She has like five master degrees, but doesn't know what to do with them. She's not sure what she wants to do, or who she wants to do for the matter, so she does a bit of everything and damn near everyone. Now here flavor of the month is music; she's trying to get a singing career going. And it looks like tonight's episode will have her jonesin for a preacher man. Then there's William who's like the dopey but loveable big brother to them all. Watch tonight at 9, and I'll be back tomorrow to dish on the latest life and love affairs of these girlfriends.
