Gisele Bundchen: Moms Should Be Required to Breastfeed!

The supermodel thinks it should be illegal for moms not to nurse their babies for at least six months

New mom Gisele Bundchen is taking the pro-breastfeeding stance to another level. The supermodel, who gave birth to son Benjamin in December, thinks it should be legally required for all new mothers.

"Some people here (in the U.S.) think they don't have to breastfeed," she says in Harper's Bazaar UK. "And I think 'Are you going to give chemical food to your child when they are so little?' I think there should be a worldwide law, in my opinion, that mothers should breastfeed their babies for six months."

In addition, Bundchen, 30, says that breastfeeding "really helped me keep my figure," and was the reason she was able strut her stuff in a bikini just a few months after giving birth.

Tom Brady's wife also opened up about measures she took to prepare for the arrival of their son -- including learning how to meditate before the big day.

"It prepared me mentally and physically. It's called 'labor' not 'holiday' for a reason, and I knew that," she says.

"You want to go into the most intense physical experience of your life unprepared? That doesn't make any sense to me," she adds. "Then I was ready and I thought, 'OK, let's get to work.' I wasn't expecting someone else to get the baby out of me."
