Giuliana Rancic "Doing Really Well" After Double Mastectomy

According to her husband Bill Rancic, the E! News host is "cracking jokes" after undergoing a successful operation Tuesday night

File this one in the "glad to hear it" column. E! News and Fashion Police host Giuliana Rancic is in good spirits after undergoing a double mastectomy and reconstructive surgery due to her breast cancer Tuesday night.

"G is doing really well," Giuliana's husband Bill Rancic tells E! News. "Her surgery lasted about four hours and the doctors were very pleased with the result."

Giuliana, 37, seems satisfied with the outcome as well. "She had a little bit of pain through the night, but is feeling much better this morning and was cracking jokes," says Bill.

The E! News mainstay decided to have a double mastectomy earlier this month after lumpectomies failed to eradicate her breast cancer.

"At the end, all it came down to was choosing to live and not looking over my shoulder for the rest of my life," Giuliana said on the Today show when she announced her intention to have the surgery. "I couldn't be more at peace with the decision, but it was hard. I still break down some nights... But, I'm okay."

She is indeed: Having undergone the double mastectomy, there is now less than a 1 percent chance that Rancic's breast cancer will return. And, now that the surgery is over and her recovery has begun, Giuliana wants her fans to know how much their support has meant throughout her ordeal.

"I want to thank all the viewers and fans for their support and prayers," she says in a statment through E! News. "The tweets and notes have not gone unnoticed. I am very grateful."
