Giuliana Rancic is officially back to work after recovering from her breast cancer surgery. Just two weeks after undergoing the double mastectomy and reconstruction, Rancic returned to the E! News set on Dec. 27. Watch her
"Even though I moved a tad slower than usual today, everyone welcomed me back with open arms and it was a wonderful homecoming," she said in a statement.
Rancic, 37, had the four-hour surgery on Dec. 13 after previous lumpectomies proved unsuccessful in keeping the breast cancer at bay.
"It feels great to be back at work," she says. "I wasn't sure whether I was going to return to E! News this week or after the new year. The last thing I wanted to do was rush my recovery."
But the entertainment reporter was obviously itching to get back in the studio and took to her first post-surgery broadcast with her usual enthusiasm, reporting on celebrity engagements, the weekend box-office report and more.
"Thankfully, I've been feeling better every single day since surgery and this weekend my doctors gave me the green light to get back to work," she added.
Her colleagues were equally as excited to welcome Rancic back to the network. "Gosh, what a nice holiday present coming back to work today on twittered E!'s chief news correspondent Ken Baker.
We're so glad to hear that Giuliana is back on her feet -- we're rooting for her!
