We Asked, She Answered: Giuliana Rancic Reveals Her (Beauty) Secrets

From her makeup routine to where she shops, the E! News host tells us how to steal her style

TV anchor, reality star, book author, red carpet monger, Fashion Police co-host... What else can Giuliana Rancic add to her resume? Fitness, nutrition and beauty guru of FabFitFun, a site that provides real-life tips, workout ideas, product roundups, confidence boosters, recipes and more.

As an advocate of healthy living (by the way, she just finished her first half marathon!), we admire Rancic's balanced lifestyle. She can be uber-glam, yet still stays down-to-earth. She'll splurge on high-fashion, but loves a good bargain. And on top of all that, we can't get enough of her sexy yet classy style -- so we asked her to give us the deets on where she buys her clothes, makeup and skincare.

Let's be honest, workout clothes usually aren't very cute. Got any pointers for finding really cute workout gear? Where should we shop (that's affordable)?
You know what I am going to say, right? FabFitFun is the place to find info on all the cutest workout clothes. We're actually working on a roundup of great, affordable, flattering clothes that will be out next month. But in the meantime, a few of my favorites include Lucy, Adidas by Stella McCartney, Target, Victoria's Secret and Lululemon.

What's inside your makeup bag right now? Tell us about the beauty products you think are just totally genius and you love using, and why you love 'em?!
I have a pretty well-stocked makeup bag. Seriously, a comprehensive makeup kit can be more important than a first aid kit. (Think Courtney Love's mug shot!) Anyway -- here's what's in my bag right now:

Foundation: My all time favorites are Chanel Pro Lumiere and Smashbox High Definition in medium. They both provide a rich, flawless color that holds up under hard TV lights. Of course, when in a pinch or on the road, I have to say that L'Oreal True Match is a terrific drugstore foundation that provides great coverage at a great price!

Foundation Brush: Your fingers will not cut it if you want a smooth even application. To apply foundation, I love M.A.C's Foundation Brush #190.

Loose Powder: I love Laura Mercier Loose Powder for an overall finish combined with her secret brightening powder that's perfect for highlighting my under eye area and the down bridge of my nose.

Lips: I can't have chapped lips on the red carpet. I use Nivea Lip Balm.

Under-Eye Concealer: YSL Touche Eclat Radiant Touch will completely eliminate any signs of last night's debauchery. And by debauchery, I mean snuggling up with Bill and watching an old movie. Yeah, we're wild.

Mascara: I simply cannot live without M.A.C Pro Lash in black. I usually have it stashed in my makeup bag and my desk drawer.

Day Shadow: For pretty, bronzy, everyday eyes, I apply M.A.C's Indianwood on my lids and creases.

Evening Shadow: For those smoky, sultry nighttime eyes, I mix M.A.C's Smut and Satin Taupe. I also really like Bobbie Brown's Cream Shadow in Black Pearl.

Your hair is always perfect and your skin looks gorgeous… What's your secret?
Water. Lots of water. I travel a lot and planes can be incredibly dehydrating, so I make sure to carry a couple of water bottles with me and some heavy duty moisturizer. If that doesn't work, I'll wear a big floppy hat or a hood. Seriously though, I am obsessed with the DDF Revolve 400x. I use it twice a week and it's like getting microdermabrasion at home. It's about $95, so I have literally saved $1,000 in facials since I started using it. Hmm, maybe I should buy a few pairs of shoes with the savings... Anyway, it's amazing and my secret weapon to great skin.

What's the most important beauty secret you can think of that you'd pass down to your daughter/granddaughter/niece one day?
Sunscreen. Lots of sunscreen from an early age. I love a good tan, but you have to protect your skin. Not only can too much sun lead to premature wrinkles and aging, but it is really dangerous, as well. I think we probably all know that at this point, and now it is just about being responsible and protecting ourselves.

Tell us about some of your go-to pieces in your wardrobe... From shoes to jackets, from pants to dresses, which items are getting a lot wear in your rotation right now?
I am loving this to-die-for iPad case from Tory Burch. It's a shiny metallic leather case in gold, and it's fierce! Also, I have a ginormous scarf from Burberry that I have been wearing almost every day. It's the classic Burberry print so it classes up any outfit.

Where do you shop?
I love high fashion like Valentino and Oscar de la Renta on the red carpet. But in real life, I tend to wear pretty affordable pieces -- everything from Tory Burch and Catherine Malandrino to H&M, Bebe, Spiegel and Express. You don't have to spend a ton of money to look like a million bucks.

Spring is right around the corner! What are you looking forward to wearing in the spring?! Any upcoming fashion or beauty trends you're excited about?
I am loving all the bright spring-y beauty shades -- I have lime nail polish on right now.
