The poor maligned carnation. Carnations have a bad rap. They are cheap and often badly dyed. Sure, green Saint Patrick’s Day carnations are a turnoff. But there is more to them than that. I want to single-handedly start a carnation renaissance.
They are an amazing filler flower. They come in all colors and look beautiful in an arrangement. They are hardy, full, and pretty. I especially love to use them in flower balls. Half the time someone will come up to me and ask what kind of flower I used. When I tell them it’s a carnation, they are shocked.
