With all the happiness that Glee brings to fans each week, it's hard to imagine that things aren't just as sunny on set of the smash-hit Fox series. But behind-the-scenes rumblings indicate that the show's cast is complaining that creator Ryan Murphy is working them to the bone!
According to blogger Kenneth Walsh (and his inside source, who used to work for Murphy) the cast has sent an angry letter to the show's creator complaining that they are being "worked too hard" and that the situation is becoming untenable. The ensemble of stars say in the letter that, when they are not actually filming the show, they are in constant rehearsals for the show's performance numbers, out making personal appearances, or practicing for the upcoming summer tour.
And the acclaimed hit series has only just completed production on its first season!
So how did Murphy react to the cast's concern? Not too well, actually. He was reportedly "irritated and dismissive" of the cast's complaints, and allegedly gave them feedback along the lines of: "I report to Fox, you report to me..." and this is the schedule Fox has set, so..."I don't want to hear it."
Uh-oh. Could the grueling schedule lead to a breakdown of camaraderie on the Glee set? And what would that mean for our favorite show? Stay tuned...
