It was a scary night for the Glee cast on Tuesday when star Amber Riley collapsed on the red carpet at a TV Academy event for the show.
The actress, who plays Mercedes, fainted while doing interviews on her way into a panel presentation between the cast and several media outlets on May 1. Riley fell to the ground and then blacked out -- but according to show reps (and the actress herself) she is "fine."
E! News reports that Riley was simply "feeling dizzy" after a long day of work and collapsed due to general exhaustion and wooziness.
Riley, 26, took to Twitter a few hours after the panel discussion to assure her fans that she was all right.
"Hey guys, I'm okay :) I got a little dizzy from all the photog flashes!" she wrote. "You'd think I's be used to it by now, still a red carpet amateur I guess. Gonna get checked out but I feel fine. Thank you for all the concern and well wishes."
She then added a heartfelt thank you to the photographers at the event: "I'd also like to thank the photographers for being so professional and not taking photos of me on the ground. I truly truly appreciate it. Could have been super embarrassing."
Luckily, Riley recovered in time to participate in the panel discussion featuring the Glee cast and producers at the TV Academy of Arts and Sciences in North Hollywood held for Emmy voters.
