'Glee' Star Chris Colfer Gets His Big Movie Break

The actor who plays the lovable Kurt Hummel will make the move to the big screen with a movie he wrote himself

If you love watching Chris Colfer work his magic as Kurt Hummel on Glee, you are in for a treat! The Emmy-nominated actor is making his way to the big screen -- in a film that he has written himself!

According to E! News, Colfer, 20, will star in indie film Struck By Lightning, which is being toted as a coming-of-age comedy. Producer David Permut is on board with the flick, and he describes the new project as a story that "captures the spirit of movies penned by the late John Hughes."

Colfer will film Struck By Lightning next summer, while Glee is on hiatus, and the flick is expected to premiere at the Sundance Film Festival in 2012.
