Go to the Art Museum

An art museum provides children and youth with a strong cultural and artistic focus. It has its own collection of artworks plus important local and regional exhibitions. Docents volunteer at many art museums and escort groups around the museum providing everyone with information and historical facts about the paintings and other works of art. The docents at some museums prepare visitors with a slide presentation, particularly if there is a well-known artist or exhibition on display. If you visit the art museum on your own and you like to draw, you can sit undisturbed and copy any of the works that you like. Take a drawing pad and some pencils with you. Art museums also have stores where you can purchase prints, books, postcards and other items of interest.
