Doctors recommend aiming for about four hours per week of moderate exercise (such as jogging, rowing, biking) in which your heart rate stays below 140. In women, too much exercise may cause hormonal changes that stop ovulation and menstruation temporarily. In men, very strenuous exercise, such as marathons or long-distance biking, can raise the temperature of the testes, reducing sperm count.
