There were no huge surprises in this year's Golden Globe nominations, but there were a few highlights:
Heath Ledger scored a nod for Best Performance by an Actor in a Supporting Role for his insanely genius portrayal of The Joker in The Dark Knight. Robert Downey Jr. and Tom Cruise were also recognized in that category for their hilarious work in Tropic Thunder. Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie both received nominations for their roles in Benjamin Button and Changeling, respectively. We bet there's a lot of celebrating happening in that household! And somehow, James Franco was nominated for Best Performance by an Actor for his role in the not-so-funny Pineapple Express.
The Globe nominations are usually a predictor of who will be nominated for the Oscars, but since the Globes seemed to go the humorous route this year, we may not see as much of a correlation. Only time will tell!
