What a night at the 66th annual Golden Globes!
Just when I thought I couldn't love Kate Winslet anymore, she proves, once again, that she is humble and grateful and extraordinary. Kate won, not one, but two Globes last night, picking up statues for both Best Actress, Drama, and Supporting Actress categories for her roles in Revolutionary Road and The Reader.
"I am so sorry, Anne, Meryl, Kristin--oh god, who's the other one?! Angelina! This is, OK now, forgive me...Is this really happening?" she said through her tears, while accepting her second award.
And the love she sent to Revolutionary co-star and BFF Leonardo DiCaprio and husband/director Sam Mendes was just heart-warming.
Other big winners were the fly-under-the-radar Slumdog Millionaire, which won four awards, including Best Picture, Drama and Best Director, comeback kid Mickey Rourke for his role in The Wrestler and, the late, great Heath Ledger was honored again for his role in The Dark Knight.
In the TV categories, our girl Tina Fey 30 Rock-ed it again, picking up Best Actress, and her cohort Alec Baldwin took home his gold for Best Actor.
All in all, the Globes proved, once again, why they are so much more watchable and entertaining than the Oscars.
