It doesn't matter how old we get. We never tire of a creative kids' book parody. (Go the F*ck to Sleep and Goodnight iPad being among our favorites.)
So, naturally, we had a good laugh over "Goodnight Nanny-Cam," a twist on the Margaret Wise Brown classic aimed at "alpha parents everywhere" that we saw on The New Yorker recently. (Okay, we saw it on Facebook, but someone we know saw it there.)
Sample line from the by Jen Nessel and Lizzy Ratner-penned piece:
Goodnight room
Goodnight recycled baby wipes with no perfume
Goodnight high-contrast black-and-white moon
Can you imagine how Brown's original placement of a red balloon in the baby room would scare the eco-chic pants off of today's alpha moms? And don't even start on that bowl full of mush. We're pretty sure it was never meant to be made of quinoa.
