Gossip Girl Hospitalized With Life-Threatening Illness

This is scary.

Gossip Girl's "Little J", Taylor Momsen, 15, was hospitalized on Sunday after waking up and complaining of a sore throat. Turns out, the young actress had a serious throat infection that caused her to need a course of aggressive antibiotics.

"I have been treating Miss Taylor Momsen for the last few days," her doctor, Shawn Nasseri, told Usmagazine.com. "She has been hospitalized for a severe, potentially life-threatening throat infection since Sunday.

"She has been an excellent patient, and after aggressive antibiotics and medications, she is expected to make a full recovery in the next three to five days," the doctor added.

Taylor was in L.A. to take a school exam when she first starting feeling sick. "She thought it was just a common cold," a friend told the mag. "But was advised to see an ear, nose and throat specialist before getting on a plane back to New York," the source adds.

Good thing is that she is getting better and hopes to be back at work by the end of the week.

"Taylor Momsen is a beloved member of our Gossip Girl cast and we are happy to report she is on the road to a speedy recovery," The CW said in a statement to Us. "We all look forward to her planned return to work on Friday."

Wishing Taylor a speedy recovery.
