When Gourmet folded last fall we were terribly sad. The bold, drool-worthy covers were always such a treat to see resting in our mailbox. Well, there's some good news! Gourmet's new book of cookie recipes, The Gourmet Cookie Book, is out today and just in time for peak-season baking, too. The editors selected one stellar cookie recipe for each year of the magazine's publication, beginning with Cajun Macaroons in 1941 and ending with a Grand Marnier Glazed Pain in 2009. We can't wait to add some of their more unique recipes--like Anise-Sented Fig and Date Swirls and Dutch Caramel Cashew Cookies--to our holiday cookie repertoire.
If that's not enough to brighten your day, Bon Appétit Desserts, a collection of the magazine's most decadent desserts from the past 50 years of publication, is also out today. Trust us, you're going to want to whip up a batch of the Coffee-Spice Caramels before doing anything else this holiday season.
