Record of the Year: "Somebody That I Used to Know," Gotye ft. Kimbra

Gotye wasn't just someone that we used to know when his hit single featuring Kimbra came out in early 2012 -- he’s someone that none of us can forget! The Aussie musician took over the radio-waves with his call-and-response, tiptoeing tune that snuck up behind us all and made him one of the biggest one-hit wonders of the year (it even got covered on Glee). While fellow nominees fun. may have stolen the Superbowl when their track, “We Are Young,” backed a Chevrolet commercial during the big game and Kelly Clarkson had her own auto tune -- the ubiquitous “Stronger (What Doesn’t Kill You)” -- for Toyota, it’s Gotye’s Sting-like sound that we still can’t stop singing.
