Gremlins (1984, PG)

Age Group: 9 to 15
Spook Factor: A fun black comedy with a lot of cartoony violence about the misadventures of a boy who gets a "Mugwai" as a pet, the movie features a race of fuzzily cute but annoying gremlins that attack humans when neglected. During this pitched people versus mini-monsters battle, you get a few extreme scenes -- like a mother chopping a gremlin in a blender (and popping one in a microwave!), and the little green beasties fight back tooth and nail. Oh, and the gremlins smoke and one is a flasher!
