Boner from 'Growing Pains' Reported Missing

TV fans received a shock this weekend when it was discovered that actor Andrew Koenig -- best known for his role as Kurt Cameron's mischievous buddy 'Boner' on the hit '80s sitcom Growing Pains -- has been reported missing.

Koenig, 41, was last seen by friends on Feb. 14 in Vancouver, British Columbia. The actor, who currently resides in Venice, Calif., was supposed to return home on a flight last Tuesday, but Vancouver police were alerted on Thursday that he had not yet returned home.

CNN reports that the police statement about Koenig read: "Andrew has recently been despondent and his family and friends are concerned for his well-being."

Meanwhile, TMZ has reported that Koenig's parents -- Walter Keonig (a veteran actor who has played Chekov in the original Star Trek series and subsequent franchise reboots) and Judy Koenig -- described their son in the days leading up to his disappearance as "suffering from depression" and "not doing good."

The actor, who memorably appeared on more than two dozen episodes of Growing Pains from 1985-1989, is being described by authorities as "5 feet 5 inches tall and weighing 135 pounds, with brown shoulder-length hair and brown eyes."

Koenig's disappearance isn't the only troubling news about former child stars of '80s sitcom hits. The Huffington Post reports that 28-year-old Brian Bonsall, who played Michael J. Fox's precocious little brother Andy Keaton on Family Ties, has been re-arrested in Boulder, Colo., for violating previous terms for release by allegedly using marijuana. Bonsall "pleaded not guilty to an assault charge and a failure to report charge involving another case." The former actor's bail was set for $10,000.
