Fans of the show Friends must think it’s 1999 all over again with all of the stories in the news this week.
At the top of the list is the speculation about a Friends movie in the works.
Before you get your hopes up though, Gunther is the one spreading the news. Yes, that Gunther, the manager from the coffee house.
"Friends: The Movie is definitely on," James Michael Tyler told News of the World. "I still keep in touch with a lot of the cast and they say that they are really keen. I am definitely on board to do the film. I really loved my time on the show and I am looking forward to meeting up with the old gang again. I just hope we can do justice to the show in a film."
The idea to do a movie is based on the success of the Sex and the City, and will hit theaters in the summer of 2011 according to the UK’s Daily Mail.
No offense to Tyler, but until Rachel, Monica, Phoebe, Joey, Chandler or Ross confirms, I remain skeptical.
Speaking of Phoebe, Lisa Kudrow made an appearance at the Rock a Little Feed a Lot benefit concert in Los Angeles and performed "Smelly Cat".
Even folks not familiar with Friends might know the words to "Smelly Cat," one of the funniest moments from the show’s 10-year run.
An audience member yelled out the song’s name while Kudrow was on stage with Courteney Cox to introduce singer Sheryl Crow. After grabbing a guitar from the back, Kudrow sang a couple bars from the song.
