Datta Phuge of Pune, an Indian business man, recently invested a third of his estimated wealth into a solid-gold T-shirt complete with six Swarovski buttons and a matching gold belt. His reasoning? "Surely no woman could fail to be dazzled by this shirt?" Touché Datta, but I'm sure most women would want that gold around their finger instead.
Thad Roberts was a NASA intern in the summer of 2002 when he decided to steal rocks from the moon "for love." He told CBS he "wanted someone to know that [he] literally cared about them that much." Sounds romantic -- except for the fact that he was married…and wound up in jail for six years…and didn’t get to keep the rocks or the girl.
A British man nearly risked his life trying to impress some girls by belly flopping off of a 60ft-high wooden platform into only five feet of water. Fortunately for him and his poor diving skills, he survived (he actually would have died had it been a completed dive) -- but we can't say the same about his dignity after the splash.
Deywayne Yarbrough was arrested in Illinois two years ago for owning and keeping a 4ft-long alligator at his home in Ford Heights, IL. When the cops questioned him about his "pet," he told them that he was trying to impress women. Um...right. See ya later, alligator.
Daniel Gray built a rainbow-colored igloo for his lady after being challenged/hoodwinked by her mother to do so. Took five days in -25 degree Celsius weather but mom was impressed enough to give them her blessing to marry. [At the time we went to print, nobody had proposed yet].
