Gwyneth Paltrow has had her share of high-profile relationships -- at least three before dating and marrying her rockstar husband Chris Martin. So when the Oscar winner revealed that one of her ex-boyfriends was a cheater, it's quickly got tongues wagging about which famous beau was unfaithful to her.
Unfortunately in the new cover story for Harper's Bazaar, Paltrow doesn't specifically name any of her former boyfriends -- but she does admit that she knows what it feels like to be betrayed.
"I had a boyfriend who used to cheat on me all the time," she says. "I was quite naive. I knew on a cellular level, but I bought his story."
Considering Paltrow, 39, dated Brad Pitt, Ben Affleck and Luke Wilson before meeting Martin shortly after her 30th birthday, it's hard not to imagine whether she's referring to one of her famous exes. (Nowadays Pitt and Affleck are both happily attached with kids, while Wilson remains a bachelor.) Of course, Paltrow could also be referencing a high-school sweetheart.
And although she insists that she and Martin are fiercely "into" their marriage of eight years, Paltrow isn't as judgmental about infidelity as you would think.
"The older I get, the more open-minded I get, the less judgmental I get. Life is long. I have friends who I love and admire who have had an affair," she explains. "When I was younger, I would have said he's a terrible person or she's a terrible person. But who made these laws?"
When it comes to enduring the ups and downs of a monogamous relationship, Paltrow remembers something her late father Bruce told her about his marriage to her mom Blythe Danner.
"My parents were married for 30-something years, and he said [it was] because they never wanted to get divorced at the same time," she recalls. "I think you do fall in and out of love and you just keep going, and every time you go through a really difficult phase, you rediscover something new and it just gets better."
