Remember a few years back when Gwyneth Paltrow and Madonna were besties, talking macrobiotic diets and taking yoga classes together all the time? Well, those days seem to be over, as sources close to the women say the friendship between the two is over.
"They don't speak," the insider tells Us Weekly. "I can't tell you exactly why they had the falling out, but Gwyneth can be jealous and competitive."
Buddying up in 1999, the two women shared a ton of common interests, but a source says once Madge split with husband Guy Ritchie in 2008, she and Paltrow's relationship also hit the skids.
Girl-on-girl tension is nothing new for the Material Girl and the Iron Man 2 star, as both have a history of splitting with their best girlfriends. Madonna and once-BFF Sandra Bernhard ended their friendship in 1991, while Paltrow stopped talking to Winona Ryder in 1998.
While Madonna's rep denies the rift, Paltrow hinted there was trouble in paradise during an interview with May's British Vogue. "I'm having a situation right now with a friend where I'm feeling pretty angry," she said.
