Flag-Tastic!

What You’ll Need: White butcher paper, scissors, non-toxic red and blue poster paint, paper plates, a paintbrush

Ages: 1 and up

Our nation’s flag is ‘Old Glory,' but at your house, it’s Young Glory! Cut a large rectangular piece of butcher paper and lay it on the floor. Squeeze some blue paint onto a plate and dip your paintbrush. Lightly coat your tot’s hand and then show her how to press down on the paper to make a ‘star.' Continue brushing and stamping her hand to create this section of the flag (just a few rows are fine -- don’t make all 50!) Wash her little mitt and prepare a plate of red paint. Brush your child’s foot with the red and walk it along the paper, making ‘stripes’. Scrub her down, let the flag dry -- and then fly!
