The internet was all abuzz this morning after London tabloid The Mirror published a photo of Daniel Radcliffe (a.k.a. Harry Potter) smoking pot.
The picture does, indeed, show the 20-year-old star holding what appears to be a joint, but a spokesperson for Radcliffe insists it is merely a "roll-up cigarette."
"We categorically deny the allegations regarding Daniel Radcliffe published in today's Daily Mirror," the spokesperson told E! News. "Daniel does smoke the occasional roll-up cigarette, but he was not doing anything more than this. We are considering our position and will be taking all necessary action in relation to such allegations."
That's all fine and dandy -- plausible, even -- but adding to the case that the smoke Harry might have inhaled wasn't tobacco: the picture shows his squinty-eyed, smiling face with a magic-markered curly mustache drawn on his face (allegedly) by a friend. This is not to say one must be stoned in order to have funny facial hair doodles on one's face, but it certainly isn't behavior typical of someone who is stern and sober.
The spokesperson's statement blatantly contradicts the account of someone claiming to have been present at the party where the picture was taken.
Wadia Tazi, a "fellow reveler," said Radcliffe lit up the joint in plain view of the partygoers, repeatedly took "deep drags" and walked around the apartment saying: "I love weed."
"Daniel was laughing and seemed to find it funny," she added. "But he didn't really look like he knew what was going on."
