The Harry Potter and Twilight film franchises combined may boast the most devoted legion of fans in the world. But will they applaud these two devoted lovebirds joining forces?
Jamie Campbell Bower and Bonnie Wright are costars in the upcoming Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows -- but Bower is also known for his role as a vampire in the Twilight movies. Now the word is out: they've officially announced that they are dating.
People caught up with Wright, 19, who plays Ginny Weasley in the Potter films, to ask how she and her beau Bower, 21, became a couple. "We met at a party and we just really clicked straight away," Wright says. " He's a great guy, and we just enjoy spending time together." Bower (who plays Gellert Grindelwald in the final Potter installment) is known to Twilight fans as the evil Caius.
The young twosome have been together for six months, but up until now they've kept their romance quiet. Wright explains, "It's not like we kept it a secret intentionally, but we didn't go around telling everyone either."
Bower may portray a super-scary vampire in New Moon, but in real life Wright says he's "really lovely." And luckily, Bower's vampire makeup on set makes it easy to distinguish him from his evil character. "They all had to wear red contact lenses and he has really white hair," Wright said about her beau. "So you can't really recognize him, which is a good thing!"
Meanwhile, the first of the final two-part Potter film event, Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows, is scheduled to hit theaters on Nov. 19.
