When I first laid eyes on this Alice + Olivia "Samantha" Silk Sequin-Striped Tee ($385 at Bloomingdale's), I knew I had to have it. But at almost $400, my wallet was severely disagreeing with me.
I held off on the purchase, but kept checking back to see if it had gone on sale (although really, anything short of 50 percent off was just not going to be affordable). And yet every week I would click back to it and try to come up with reasons why it would okay to spend that much on a top (there weren't any). Then, when I had all but given up hope on ever owning this dreamy number, I somehow found myself on J.Crew. And that's when I spotted it: this Stripe Sequin Boatneck Tee ($72 at J.Crew). I couldn't believe my luck! It was practically a twin of the original but over $300 less! I immediately zipped it into my shopping cart, and I have to say it's seriously been the best shopping-related thing to happen to me in a while. It might sound crazy, but It really did make my whole day!
