I'm so excited for the Footloose remake I can't stand it!
Here's some new casting news: Sources say that Heroes star Hayden Panettiere has auditioned for the female lead role in the flick, Ariel.
According to E! Online, Hayden got the chance to sing for the head honchos behind the film, which is being turned into a full musical, and they were blown away!
"They were really impressed," the insider said. "No one realized what a good singer she is."
If Hayden gets a call back she will most likely have a dance audition with Chace Crawford. Though the Gossip Girl star has not officially been named the new lead of the film, everyone's buzzing that Chace has it in the bag.
Lucky for him Zac Efron has moved on.
