Newly engaged Heather Locklear already knows who would make the perfect bridesmaid -- her daughter Ava Sambora. Locklear, who announced her engagement to boyfriend Jack Wagner in August, says her 14-year-old with ex-husband Richie Sambora couldn't be more thrilled about the impending nuptials.
"Ava was so excited when we told her," Locklear, 50, tells People. "She hugged Jack, said congratulations, and she immediately wanted to see the ring. Then she ran and Facebooked her new stepbrother."
Locklear and Wagner, 52, will have a blended family that also includes Wagner's two sons with ex-wife Kristina Wagner -- 21-year-old Peter, and Harrison, 16.
Ava says she's happy to support her mother's engagement.
"I want her to do what makes her happy," explains Ava. "That's the main point."
Ava's own love life also seems to be going well, too! And it seems she and her mom share a similar taste in men. The teenager (who's own father is the famous lead guitarist for Bon Jovi) says her new boyfriend is "tall and plays guitar. He's so sweet."
And the irony isn't lost on Locklear, who jokes: "She's like, 'I like a musician.' ... How weird. Where does she get that from?"
