Heidi Klum Admits She's Dating Her Bodyguard

During her visit to Katie, Klum dished about her rocky relationship with ex-husband Seal and her new romance with Martin Kristen

Heidi Klum isn't being shy about her personal life! The Project Runway host sat down with Katie Couric on Wednesday and opened up about her failed marriage with Seal and her budding new romance with her bodyguard.

The supermodel admitted that it's been hard to see her divorce discussed so prominently in the media.

"I mean it is very hard and especially, you know, being in all of the magazine and gossip pages. I mean, that is definitely very hard and hurtful and it's hard to go through a divorce…if you’re not in the public eye, or if you’re in the public eye -- it's horrible," she said on the Sept. 12 episode of Katie.

The mother of four added that divorce wasn't something she ever imagined for herself.

"I'm someone who believes in a fairy tale and when I said 'I do' … I meant forever," Klum told Couric. "But I don't know, you never know what happens. Life...changes, it's that road with all those bumps and holes and you trying to struggle through them and -- I don’t know, we just couldn't make it work, you know?"

Klum, 39, even opened up about her reported romance with her longtime bodyguard Martin Kristen.

"You are in a relationship right now?" Couric asked.

"I don’t even know if I can even call it that. I don't know, it just started. So I don’t know. I don’t know where it's going to go," she said, shying away from the topic.

But Couric pressed further: "And it's with someone who works with you. Your bodyguard."

"Yes. I've know him for four years...I trust him with my children's life. He's a great man, you know, and we just got to know each other from a completely different side."

Kristen is the man Seal referred to as "the help" in his hurtful comments about Klum's new romance. Those comments are one of the reasons Klum says her relationship with her ex is a "work in progress."

"You have to take it one day at a time. It's hard especially when you are in the public eye too. You know you're always you're always going to have people looking at you closely at everything you do. And they also don't always see exactly how it really is."
