Heidi Klum and Seal's seemingly amicable split took an ugly turn last week. The exes have hit an even rougher patch in their post-separation relationship since the singer publicly lashed out at his estranged wife.
The Grammy winner, 49, spoke out to TMZ about Klum's alleged romantic relationship with her bodyguard, Martin Kristen. Seal said Klum lacked "class" and snarkily quipped that the supermodel should "at least wait until we separated first before deciding to fornicate with the help."
Seal's comments incited an upset reply from Klum, who released a statement via her rep. "It is sad that Seal has to resort to this kind of behavior and spread these untruths about the mother of his children."
Now, Heidi is taking to Katie Couric's couch to chat with the new talk-show host about her split with the singer, with whom she shares custody of their four kids (Leni, 8, Henry, 6, Johan, 5, and Lou, 2).
"I don't know if we're the greatest friends right now, especially because of the things that he said," Klum told Katie Couric in a pre-taped interview for her new show, Katie, this week. "I just saw him on, on Sunday. We were talking and we're in an okay place."
Regarding the divorce, Klum did admit that the couple of nine years did try to resolve their issues, but it just didn't work. "I just tried my hardest -- he just tried his hardest," she said. "I want to be friends with him. I want us to be there for our children."
