WATCH: Does Heidi Klum's Personal Video Make Her More Relatable?

The supermodel shared a video via Facebook that gives fans a look back at her childhood and her start in the modeling industry

Heidi Klum: She's just like us! Except prettier. And richer. And marries rock stars.

Okay, she's not really that much like us at all. So what is it that makes us like her more than other supermodels? On Tuesday, Klum gave us a glimpse of her pre-modeling past, posting a two-minute video from a few years back on her Facebook page -- and reminding us what's so great about her.

Watch it below!

"I didn't always want to be a model. I had no idea what a model is," says Klum, 39, in the voiceover, over photographs and video of herself as an adorable little kid.

As she explains to the camera, Heidi got into modeling almost by accident: She entered a contest in a German magazine on a whim. After she won and realized she enjoyed modeling, she still had to work her way to the top. Among her problems: She was "super shy" and the only English she could speak was the phrase, "Hi, I'm Heidi and I'm from Germany. Nice to meet you!"

With her big break as a Victoria's Secret model, Klum became a huge star -- and it's easy to see why. Even in the photographs from when she was a teenager, Heidi is a remarkable natural beauty. Her body is still insane after having four children. We're totally jealous, yet we just can't hate her.

The video highlights two reasons why Heidi seems more relatable than your average drop-dead gorgeous celebrity. Reason No. 1 is that she worked hard to get where she is. Even though it would be easy for Klum to glide by on her looks, she never has; she's always been proactive about her career and her many business ventures (including Project Runway, which she co-created).

And the second reason: She really enjoys what she does. Whether she's making silly faces into the camera or designing lavish Halloween costumes, it's clear that it's not only about the money and fame; Heidi simply adores fashion and managed to stumble into a career that she loves. She seems like she's having fun. And that makes it fun to watch her.
