Hell's Kitchen Recap

After last week, Gordon Ramsay points out that the chefs are still struggling with their timing in the kitchen. For the first challenge this week, Ramsay has the chefs cook three items off the menu, however, he informs them that only one chef can be in the kitchen at a time. Each chef has six minutes to cook before passing the baton off to the next chef where they must continue where the previous chef left off.

After the relay race, the blue team left their scallops raw, while the red team's John dory presentation was dreadful. In the end though, the blue team forgot their sauce for the chicken dish, giving them the loss. The red team is rewarded with a trip to the beach, while the blue team is punished with fixing up the kitchen. Let's just say I was not looking forward to seeing Matt in a bathing suit.

The next day at service Ramsay tells the chefs they would not be cooking the regular menu. Both teams would have one hour to create their own menu to serve that night at dinner service. This is usually the episode where the competition really gets good.

The red team puts together a really nice menu that Ramsay seems to thoroughly enjoy. The blue team's menu (or should I say Jen's menu) on the other hand, does not go over so well with Ramsay. Ramsay hates it and tells the chefs to change it immediately. After Bobby puts in his two cents, Ramsay opens up to the new menu.

At service, Matt has problems with the appetizers and continues to produce salty pasta. Ramsay notices Matt is sweating in the dish which is, well, just gross. After a bunch of returned appetizers, the red team decides to kick Matt off the station.

On the blue side, Louross has his own problems. All of his steaks come back overcooked or undercooked. Ramsay finally puts his foot down and tells Louross if another steak comes back he is shutting down the blue kitchen. Eventually Louross produces a decent steak; however Ramsay finds out his guests already left.

Matt fails to produce again and gets kicked off the vegetable station. Christina and Corey are fed up and decide to run all the stations themselves. As the service dies down, Bobby gets more and more tired of Jen and her dessert station. Despite the setbacks, both teams finish their service.

At the line up, Ramsay tells Petrozza he is the best of the worst despite his messy station and is asked to pick two of his teammates to put up for elimination.  It is no surprise that Petrozza sends Louross and Jen  to the chopping block. In a small twist, Ramsay asks Petrozza to pick one to send home immediately.

Petrozza says he thinks Louross should leave and Ramsay agrees, sending Louross home. He wasn't done though. Right after Louross was gone, Ramsay brought Matt forward and told him to return to the blue team. He then told Jen to return her original team as well. Let's hope they both cause enough problems that they finally get kicked off already.

Until next time, Happy Eating!
