The Internet just got a lot, well, hotter. Is your Facebook feed clogged with wedding photos and not-so-cute babies? Is the news too depressing or boring to get through? Gosling has your back.
The new Google Chrome extension, aptly called “Hey Girl,” allows you to transform all the photos from any webpage into beautiful photos of Ryan Gosling. To get all the Gosling pics your heart desires and deserves all you need to do is download the app to your bookmarks bar, click the icon while on a webpage, et voila! Easy, sexy Internet.
New York-based web developer Katherine Champagne was inspired to create the extension while attending Dev Bootcamp Chicago. Based off of a class assignment, Champagne and a male classmate changed all of his Dev Bootcamp profile information so he looked like Channing Tatum. Champagne’s teacher challenged her to create a bookmarklet based off the results, and the “Hey Girl” extension was born. Obviously Gosling won over Tatum.
In an interview with Mashable, Champagne says she hopes the extension “inspires more women to get into web development.” She stresses that “It’s not all math, it’s not all boring as I hope heygirl.io evidences, I’ve found programming to be an incredible creative outlet.”
