Hilary Duff: Motherhood "Is No Joke"

The new mom tweets about how much life has changed since giving birth to her one-week-old son, Luca

Hilary Duff has played dozens of roles in her career, but she's currently experiencing her toughest part ever -- new motherhood.

"4 am...Sleepy eyed. Feeding baby...whew this job is no joke!" Duff, 24, twittered early Tuesday morning. The day before, she also chronicled life with a newborn on Twitter: "Luca fed! Mamma fed! Time to do it all again in 2 hours! Oh how life has changed! Lol In such a wonderful way :)" she posted on Monday.

But the mother of one-week-old baby Luca Cruz is adjusting to motherhood quite well, thanks to a little help from friends and family -- like big sister Haylie Duff.

"Haylie came over to make yummy kale salad and truffle devil eggs for din! I think it's more about her getting time with Luca but I'll take it!" Duff wrote about Luca's visit from his proud auntie.

Hilary and husband Mike Comrie welcomed little Luca on March 20. He weighed in at a healthy 7 pounds, 6 ounces.

"Welcome to the world Luca Cruz Comrie," proud papa Comrie, 31, posted to his Twitter the day of Luca's birth. "Can't express my feelings for you right now!"

On Tuesday night, Duff celebrated a milestone: her first time out without the baby.

"1st outing complete with no tears! Made it home early...just in time to feed Luca. Figuring this motherhood thing out! Yay! A grown up din;)," she wrote about her dinner out with friend and designer Alisia Leibel.

"Omg my first outing in a week and I hit @AlisiaLeibel in the eye with a shrimp tail! Cant take me anywhere! Lord help me!"
