Hillary Clinton says she's going to be done with her stint as secretary of state this year and that she's not going to run for president in 2016 or any other elective office. So if those things are true, doesn't the woman deserve a little down time?
Clinton was in Cartagena, Colombia last week to attend the Summit of the Americas with President Obama. And even though she's been all over the globe on official business, the minute she tries to chill, her critics attack and photographers pounce as she headed out for some R&R before going home.
The woman who tirelessly tries to make the world better for poor women and children around the globe can't have one beer and some fun on the dance floor? Come on, people. If there's one woman in America who deserves a little spring break action, isn't it Hillary?
At least she was out of the country for the whole Ann Romney/stay-at-home mom brouhaha. I know she doesn't want to talk about baking cookies anymore. Those who have a problem with a relatively short girls' night out for the woman who's logged almost 750,000 miles and visiting 95 countries in the last thee-and-a-half years should use their energy to talk about the GSA boondoggle instead of mocking the secretary of state with the headline of "Swillary!" And what about the Secret Service and its members being investigated for a potential scandal involving prostitutes?
