Since launching last week, the hilarious parody blog "Texts from Hillary" has gone viral, and Hillary Clinton -- or "Hil"or "Hillz" as she's known on the Tumblr web site -- has proven that she's in on the joke. On Tuesday, the secretary of state not only invited the creators of the blog, Stacy Lambe and Adam Smith, to the state department for a meet-and-greet, but she also submitted her own post.
The site depicts a seriously badass-looking Clinton -- the photo used in each post is of Clinton on a military transport plane surrounded by briefing papers while donning massive sunglasses -- being seriously in control with everyone from President Barack Obama, Vice President Joe Biden and Condoleezza Rice to Ryan Gosling, Oprah Winfrey and Lady Gaga via text. A sample? "Daily Show this week?" texts Jon Stewart. "Already booked Colbert," responds Clinton.
What I love about this story is how comfortable Clinton is in her own skin these days -- comfortable enough to even laugh at herself! While rumors have swirled about 2016 being Hillary's year (and we've already named her as our dream 2012 VP), she seems seems more relaxed, and more confident than we've seen her. Clinton is the most traveled secretary of state ever, she's powerful ... and, well, she knows it. Maybe she'll get her own "I'm Sexy and I Know It" spoof next?
