chime in nowSubaru has announced a recall of about 200,000 Legacy and Outback series cars for a braking issue. The sedans and wagons affected are from model years 2005-2009.
The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration announced that "salt water could splash on the brake lines through a gap in the fuel tank protector, resulting in excessive corrosion of the brake lines."
According to NBC News, there have been no reports of accidents, injuries or failures. The issue was discovered during an internal testing program.
Subaru owners of the affected models can take their cars to Subaru dealers for a free inspection. For more information about this recall, visit Reuters.
